Family and Consumer Sciences addresses the continuing concern for the quality of life, with emphasis on the family. It is within the family that basic needs are met; attitudes and communication styles are learned; patterns of response to environment conditions are generated; and ways of thinking, reasoning and acting are developed. It is the function of this department to create and sustain the optimum development of family members in both intellectually and ethically defensible ways. Basics to society is the family unit. Family and Consumer Sciences uses this fact in its curriculum. )
