In August the administrative team of Central High School welcomed Mr. Sean Leavy as our new associate principal. The 2011-2012 school year will mark Mr. Leavy’s thirteenth year as a professional educator. This year at Central Mr. Leavy begins his sixth year as an associate principal. He has previously served as an associate principal two years with Columbus City Schools at South High School in Columbus, Ohio and three years with the School District of Beloit at Beloit Memorial High School in Beloit, Wisconsin.
Mr. Leavy is a native of Beloit, Wisconsin and a 1995 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. He attended Mississippi Valley State University on full academic scholarship and graduated summa cume laude in 1999 having completed a Bachelor of Science in Education majoring in Social Science Education. Mr. Leavy taught Social Studies at Linden-McKinley High School in the Columbus City Schools, Columbus Ohio for seven years. During his teaching career he also served as a department chair, curriculum writer and course developer for the Columbus City Schools’ Virtual Online High School. At Central Mr. Leavy will work with student attendance, discipline, activities, scheduling and will also supervise several departments and serve on various committees. In his time outside of work Mr. Leavy enjoys spending time with his family: his wife, and two children. And even though they have returned to and are natives of Wisconsin he and his wife love to root for the Buckeyes of The Ohio State University where they both completed their Master of Arts and Master of Business Administration degrees. |
