Tom Lampe

I teach World History to freshmen and AP Economics to juniors and seniors. While teaching these courses, I also have other responsibilities here at Central.  First, I am the department chair for the social studies department.  Outside of going to meetings and budgets, it's not much but the title sure sounds cool!  I also coach here at the high school. Currently I am coaching freshmen football in the fall and varsity softball in the spring.

World History covers the various parts of the globe and looks at the geography, economic systems, social customs and history of the various regions of the world.  It starts in Europe and Latin America but it then looks at various places like the Middle East, Africa, and the Far East. 

After taking AP Economics, you will have a much greater understanding about how the American economy works than the average person does.  Though this class is not for everybody, I feel that a person who takes this course will have established a solid foundation for any future work in politics, the business fields or any other social studies discipline.  Additionally, tutoring your college roommates is a pretty good way to earn some income!
