Facility Study

District of Westosha Logo

Happy New Year!

Lots of exciting things are continuing to happen at Westosha Central on a daily basis. Innovation, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem solving continue to shape the work each and every day. Along with promoting growth in our instructional and learning opportunities for our staff and students, the district is also exploring the short- and long-range facility needs of the building. At the November 2019 Board of Education meeting, the district approved a contract with Bray Architects to conduct a complete facility study of our building. Bray Architects will examine the infrastructure, including but not limited to: heating and cooling systems, roofing systems, classroom and other spaces in the building, building envelope, parking and road conditions. In addition, the team will examine the current learning spaces to ensure that they are supporting innovation, collaboration, exploration, and other 21st Century learning skills needed for our students to be successful now and into the future. The facility study will take approximately four months to complete and will end with a full and comprehensive Facility Master Plan. Following the completion of the study, the Board of Education and administration will:

  • Survey and engage the community for input, ideas and support
  • Create a timeline for implementation of facility projects and needs
  • Determine a long-range financial plan for current and future needs

Creating a short and long term facility plan will allow the district to ensure that the building is set for years to come. Financial responsibility will drive our planning and conversations throughout this process.

The future continues to be bright at Westosha Central. We will build on the many great things happening each and every day and strive to grow and improve. Our sights are set for excellence and everything that we do is done to reach this goal.
