Dear Parents and Community Members:

It is my honor and privilege to serve as the District Administrator of Central High School District of Westosha. As an active community member of western Kenosha County for over 20 years, I know that Central High School is a vibrant learning community with rich traditions and a commitment to excellence.

As a school district, we believe it is important to set goals to focus our actions for continuous improvement. Academic Achievement, School Safety, Financial Planning, and Community Engagement will be the cornerstone of our work in 2019-20 and beyond. The district will be revisiting our Strategic Plan during the 2019-20 school year, but these areas will most definitely be part of our work.

Academic Achievement & Growth. We pride ourselves in working tirelessly to meet the individualized needs of all of our students with the goal of preparing them for college, career, or military service upon graduation from Central High School. We will continue to explore our course offerings and curriculum to maximize opportunities for students.

School Safety. The physical and emotional safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority. The District will continue to evaluate our practices and procedures to maintain a safe and orderly environment. Along with the physical safety of our students, we are committed to providing the emotional supports that promote healthy choices and decisions. We want EVERY student to feel supported and to know that our staff cares about them as a student, but more importantly, as a person.

Financial Planning. School funding has changed over the years and maintaining a balanced budget has become difficult for many school districts in the State of Wisconsin. Central, like many, is faced with budgetary challenges; these challenges will be investigated and prioritized in 2019-20. To help with this process, the district is using the Baird Budget Model to plan for the future. I am very familiar with this tool and have found it to be an excellent resource to plan, predict, and communicate. This planning process will also incorporate a full facility study, prioritizing needs and opportunities for improvements. Throughout this planning process, we will communicate to our stakeholders about our current financial state and share plans and strategies for future years. We are appreciative of our community’s financial support and continue to manage our finances for the betterment of our students and District.

Community Engagement. We will also continue to explore opportunities to engage our community. Developing community relationships and making connections is vital to the success of our District. Whether or not you have a child attending our schools, we encourage you to take advantage of the many events showcasing our students and their tremendous talents. Art shows, music concerts, and athletic events are just a few ways to become connected with Central High School. Visit our district’s website ( for the most current event calendar.

Our focus is on our students; it is our goal to give them opportunities for growth, exploration, and success. We are committed to help EVERY student find success, both academically and emotionally. We have an amazing staff that shares these goals. Our continued goal is to not only be the best high school in Kenosha County, but to be the best high school in the State of Wisconsin. Together, we can and will achieve this vision.

I look forward to working with you, our parents and community, in the coming year, and if I can be of any assistance, please contact me at 262-843-2321, extension 222, or Better yet, please stop by - my door is always open.

Together, we will make a difference for our students and community.

John Gendron
