This week, we are proud to celebrate Speech Pathology Week and recognize the incredible work of Lauren Green, our dedicated speech-language pathologist.

Lauren works tirelessly to ensure every student has a voice and the tools they need to succeed both in the classroom and beyond.

Her patience, expertise, and genuine care make a difference in our district. We are so grateful for the way she advocates for students and helps create an inclusive, supportive learning environment for all.

Thank you, Lauren, for everything you do. We are lucky to have you.

Our seniors added a little color and creativity to campus as they finished painting their parking spots for the school year! This annual tradition is a fun celebration and meaningful milestone in their high school careers.

Thank you to the parents and guardians who helped make this possible. The finished spots look beautiful, and we can’t wait to see them throughout the year!

Please join us in welcoming back a familiar face to the Westosha Central community, Mari Antaramian!

About Me
This photo was taken during a group trip to Panamá with students this summer—one of the many experiences that makes teaching so rewarding. When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy traveling, riding my horse, and finding new ways to entertain my cats.

Giving Back
I also volunteer with the Randall Fire Department. Staying busy, helping others, and giving back to the community are all important parts of who I am.

Why Westosha?
I’m looking forward to reconnecting with past students and meeting many new students this year!

Franny has a new friend!

Wheatland Center School's new therapy dog, Maple!

Over the past eight months, Maple has completed extensive training through Ultimate Canine to prepare her for her role at Wheatland. This opportunity would not have been possible without the incredible support of our PTO and Wheatland community, whose fundraising efforts at our Annual Spaghetti Dinner made Maple’s training possible. We are so grateful for your continued investment in the well-being of our students and staff!

This past year, our students achieved the highest AP exam achievement scores on record for as far back as we have access to data. Their hard work, along with the support of our staff and families, is reflected in several exciting milestones:

519 students took AP exams this year, completing 790 total exams.

70% of AP students scored a 3 or higher on at least one exam, up from 62% last year.

73% of all AP exams earned a score of 3 or higher, an increase from 67% last year.

We had more students in every grade level pass at least one AP exam than ever before.

147 students earned an AP Scholar designation, up from 110 last year.

These results highlight our students’ dedication, our teachers’ commitment to rigorous instruction, and our community’s ongoing support of advanced academics. Congratulations to all of our AP students and staff for their efforts this past year!

Happy Book Lovers Month from the Westosha IMC!

Summer is the perfect time to relax with a great book, and we’ve got plenty of ways for students to keep reading all season long. Check out Sora for audiobooks and ebooks, explore Comics Plus for graphic novels and comics, or visit the community library to find even more great reads. Students can also learn more about our Battle of the Books team and check out the reading list for even more recommendations and reading inspiration.

Reading over summer helps keep minds active, builds vocabulary, and makes sure students are ready to hit the ground running in the fall. No matter what format you love whether it's audio, ebook, comics, or print, there’s a summer read waiting for you!
