About Jamie
I’m a proud mom of two amazing kids, and family is at the heart of everything I do. As an educator, I’ve had the privilege of teaching students at both the elementary and high school levels, which has given me a strong understanding of students’ needs at different stages of their learning journey.
Coaching Experience
In addition to teaching, I’m a passionate softball coach. I love helping young athletes build confidence, develop strong teamwork, and grow their skills both on and off the field, and I strive to create a positive, encouraging environment where everyone feels supported.

Just one month in, the pollinator patch is thriving. The grass visible in the photo is whitegrass, which helps prevent erosion and suppress weeds. The science department has been hard at work keeping everything watered during this recent heat wave.
A little background on why and what a pollinator patch can do:
1. Convert ~ 1000 square feet of turf grass back to native prairie vegetation
2. Showcase best practices for shoreline plantings for lakefront property and stormwater pond owners.
3. Reduce areas of turf grass to mown by Central HS
4. Capture overland stormwater flow and pollutants prior to entering the stormwater pond, supporting better water quality in Hooker Lake.
5. Prevent phosphorus loading (and subsequent algae blooms) in the pond from grass clippings
6. Provide students with a hands-on restoration opportunity
7. Support a healthy ecosystem for pollinators, birds, and downstream fish populations
8. Improve the aesthetics of Central High School’s natural areas
