Our next Student Org Spotlight is the National Honor Society! NHS chapters are present in high schools across the United States and other countries, where members participate in chapter and individual service projects and activities to serve their schools and communities. The club currently meets once a month in the upper commons to discuss typical service hour requirements and service projects. On Tuesday, ERMCO presented WCHS with a $20,000 annual donation in support of our Career & Technical Education/STEM Programs. Their generous donation will enable us to continue providing students with the technology, certifications, and training necessary to successfully enter the workforce and higher education after graduation. Our students are getting a head start with hands-on CTE courses that earn Dual Credit, saving time, money, and building confidence before they even graduate! During the 2024-2025 school year, WCHS students saved over $400,000 in tuition from Gateway Technical College alone! This isn’t just “getting ready”. This is launching early!

FCCLA recently volunteered at Solstice Sanctuary, helping with chores at the local farm for animals who have experienced trauma or homelessness. #weAREwestosha
During Trimester 1, Students in AP Environmental Science worked on a study through the WInSTEP Environmental Health Science Program with UW-Milwaukee. The goal of this module is for students to conduct scientific investigations using the zebrafish to understand how environmental agents affect human development.
Students created presentations with their findings that could be presented later at the Wisconsin Inquiry-based Scientist- Teacher Education Partnership Program, which is part of the NIH Science Education Partnership Award Program spring Student Research Conference! #weAREwestosha
